Mayank Patel is Managing Director of Tri Polus, in conjunction with the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) led a very successful trade mission to India where 30 US participants attended meeting Indian government officials and with over 100 Indian aerospace companies in Delhi and Bangalore.
Mayank is a regular speaker on the subject of “Succeeding in India within the Aerospace/Defence Market” and also on the subject of “Offsets”, where he has delivered workshops internationally. Mayank works closely with the DMA and SBAC on subjects related to the Indian market.
Mayank is currently working with many International organisations looking to source from India and establish cooperation and joint-ventures with Indian companies. In addition he is working with Indian companies to facilitate export markets. Previous to his current position, he was European Operations Director for L-3 Communications a U.S. based corporation, where he lead the re-structuring and re-building of European Business within the Space Market place. Mayank graduated with a degree in Mathematics from Bath University in the UK then went on to become a flight dynamics engineer working with various Space agencies in Europe and the USA. |

About Q-Tech Synergy
Q-Tech Synergy is a defence research and consulting organization, based in Delhi, India. Major General (Dr.) Bhupinder Yadav, Director of Q-Tech Synergy was with the Dept. of Defence Production. He is a Fellow from Institution of Engineers India, MBA, M.Sc. (Quality Management) from Cranfield University, UK, and holds a PhD in Operations Management. He has more than 30 years experience with technology management areas such as Planning and Co-ordination, project planning, product development and improvement, export promotion, vendor development, quality planning & assurance in engineering hardware, process and assembly lines of mechanical / chemical systems. He played an active role in the supply chain of defence products with a focus on self reliance through indigenisation, technology absorption, product upgrade with participation of Public /Private Sector and has been associated with important committees on defence production.
He has a number of papers on quality, reliability and process improvement in various international seminars and publications to his credit. Presently he is in to consultancy on Defence Procurement, Offset, and Technology transfer issues.
In a survey conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) recently identified the understanding of defence procurement policies and procedures as one of the major issues which deters industry in participating in the defence sector. CII collaborated with Maj. Gen. Yadav to collate the relevant references from Industry perspective and published a book on “Indian Defence Procurement Opportunities: A Guide” for Indian SME. |
